Welder/Fabricator - Tow bars

Are you an experienced Welder/Fabricator looking for your next opportunity? We're seeking a skilled tradesperson to join a busy Hamilton workshop specialising in the fabrication of tow bars and towing components.
This is an immediate start role offering competitive pay, weekly wages, and the opportunity to work with a supportive team in a well-equipped workshop.

Pay rate: $32–$34 per hour 

About the Role As a Welder/Fabricator, you'll play a key role in producing high-quality tow bars and towing components while maintaining excellent workmanship and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld tow bars and towing components using MIG welding.
• Read and interpret workshop drawings and specifications.
• Measure, cut, drill, and prepare steel components for fabrication.
• Assemble and fit tow bars to vehicles.
• Grind, finish, and inspect welds to ensure a high-quality finish.
• Operate fabrication equipment including welders, drills, grinders, saws, and other workshop machinery.
• Carry out repairs and modifications to existing tow bars and fabricated products.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop.
• Follow all health and safety procedures while meeting production deadlines.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Welder/Fabricator, in tow bars, trailers, automotive, or light engineering.
• Strong MIG welding skills (TIG welding experience is advantageous).
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings.
• Experience using hand and power tools safely.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Full Class 1 driver's licence preferred.
