Precision in the Seat: GPS Excavator Operators Wanted | Rotorua
Are you an operator who views a 20-tonne machine as a precision tool? We are looking for elite Excator Operators with a mastery of GPS technology to join a series of high-spec civil and infrastructure projects across Rotorua.
In an industry where millimetres matter, we need professionals who can hit the levels first time, every time. If you’re tired of "rough enough" and want to work on sites where technology and talent meet, this is the role for you.
The OpportunityThis isn't just about bulk earthworks; it’s about high-precision execution. Working with the latest Trimble or Topcon systems, you will be responsible for:
  • Final Trim Mastery: Executing complex batters, sub-divisions, and roading sub-grades to exact design specifications.
  • Technical Integration: Utilizing in-cab GPS displays to work independently from traditional pegs and string lines.
  • Infrastructure Excellence: Precision trenching for services and deep drainage in challenging volcanic soils.
  • Fleet Stewardship: Operating and maintaining a modern fleet of 10T–30T machines, ensuring they remain in peak condition.
What’s On Offer?
  • Leading Market Rates: Your specialized technical skills are in high demand; we offer a pay scale that reflects that.
  • The Best Tech: Access to the latest GPS-enabled machinery and software.
  • Stay Local: Work on significant projects right here in Rotorua—no more long-distance hauls or living out of a suitcase.
  • Health & Culture: Join a team that values site safety and a positive, "get-it-done" culture.
What You Bring to the Cab
  • Proven GPS Experience: Demonstrable experience using GPS machine control systems for final trim and civil works.
  • Licensing & Endorsements: Must hold a current Wheels, Tracks, and Rollers (WTR) endorsement and a clean Class 1 license (Class 2 or 4 is a major advantage).
  • Civil Expertise: A deep understanding of site drawings, levels, and civil construction sequences.
  • Reliability: A solid work ethic and the ability to work consistent hours in the heart of the Bay of Plenty.
  • Communication: Ability to coordinate effectively with site managers and ground crews via radio and in-person.
Ready to Level Up?If you have the experience to back up your talk and the technical skills to handle the latest gear, we want to see you in the driver’s seat.
