Tradestaff is looking for an experienced Registered Electrician to join a major solar farm project in Taupō. This is an opportunity to put your commercial, industrial or infrastructure experience to work on a significant renewable-energy development and gain valuable exposure to utility-scale solar.
Previous solar experience is valuable but not essential — we’re also interested in capable electricians with strong installation skills, safe working practices and a high standard of workmanship.

Pay rate: $48–$51 per hour + weekly pay
What You'll Be Doing
- Install electrical equipment and infrastructure across a utility-scale solar farm
- Run, secure and manage AC and DC cabling and cable-management systems
- Install and connect inverters, switchgear and associated electrical equipment
- Complete electrical terminations and connections to project specifications
- Read and interpret electrical plans, drawings and technical documentation
- Carry out testing and fault finding across installed systems
- Support commissioning activities as the project progresses
- NZ Registered Electrician with a current EWRB Electrical Practising Licence
- Commercial, industrial, infrastructure or solar electrical experience
- Confidence reading electrical plans and completing work to specification
- Full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence and your own basic electrical hand tools
- Strong commitment to electrical and construction-site health and safety
- Site Safe, EWP, Working at Heights or First Aid qualifications would be advantageous
- Right to work in New Zealand and ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Project-completion bonus for those who remain through to the agreed completion date
