Tradestaff is looking for an experienced Electrician to work across commercial and industrial projects throughout Christchurch. We’re after a capable sparky who can work confidently across varied sites, solve problems on the tools, and deliver electrical work to a high standard.
Location: Central City, Christchurch
Start date: Immediate start
Pay rate: $38–$45 per hour + weekly pay

Tradestaff is looking for an experienced Electrician to work across commercial and industrial projects throughout Christchurch. We’re after a capable sparky who can work confidently across varied sites, solve problems on the tools, and deliver electrical work to a high standard.
Location: Central City, Christchurch
Start date: Immediate start
Pay rate: $38–$45 per hour + weekly pay
What You'll Be Doing
- Complete electrical installations across commercial and industrial sites
- Diagnose faults and carry out effective electrical repairs
- Install and maintain switchboards, distribution systems, and electrical equipment
- Complete planned and reactive maintenance on electrical systems
- Run, terminate, and connect cabling, circuits, and associated components
- Test electrical work and complete required verification and documentation
- Work from drawings, schematics, and specifications to meet NZ electrical standards
- NZ-qualified Electrician with current EWRB registration and practising licence
- Proven commercial and/or industrial electrical experience
- Strong fault-finding and electrical troubleshooting capability
- Sound knowledge of NZ electrical regulations, standards, and safe working practices
- Confident reading electrical drawings, schematics, and technical information
- Full NZ driver licence and own tools
- Reliable, safety-focused, and capable of working independently or within a site team
- Potential for long-term work opportunities
- Variety across commercial and industrial projects
- Exposure to different electrical systems, equipment, and environments
- Work alongside experienced tradespeople and established contractors
- Opportunity to further develop your technical electrical experience
- PPE provided where required
- Support from the Tradestaff team throughout your assignment
