Duct Installer We’re looking for experienced Duct Installers to join our team for work predominantly across Auckland region. There may be occasions where work in the Waikato region is required; this will be discussed with successful applicants.

This is a hands-on trade role involving the measuring, marking out, cutting, shaping, assembling, modifying and installation of sheetmetal ductwork and associated components. We’re looking for skilled workers who can interpret plans and specifications, work accurately with sheetmetal products, and complete installations to a high standard.

Pay rate: $28–$35 per hour, based on experience, paid weekly

What you'll be doing

• Reading and interpreting drawings, plans and job specifications to determine installation, material and equipment requirements
• Measuring and marking out sheetmetal ductwork and components using appropriate measuring tools, reference points and specifications
• Checking sheetmetal components, dimensions and materials against drawings and job requirements
• Cutting and preparing sheetmetal and duct components using appropriate hand and power tools
• Shaping, forming and modifying sheetmetal ductwork and components to suit site and installation requirements
• Fitting and assembling ductwork sections and components using screws, rivets and other suitable joining and fastening methods
• Installing and securing sheetmetal ductwork using brackets, hangers, supports and appropriate fixings
• Installing flexible and insulated ductwork where required
• Applying sealants, insulation and protective materials to completed ductwork
• Installing grilles, diffusers, vents, dampers and associated duct system components
• Modifying, adjusting and repairing sheetmetal ductwork and components as required on site
• Finishing and checking assembled components to ensure correct fit, alignment and workmanship
• Working from drawings to position and install duct sections accurately
• Using hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment safely and effectively
• Working alongside builders, electricians and other trades to coordinate installation activities
• Carrying out quality checks on completed work and identifying any installation issues
• Loading, unloading and moving ductwork, sheetmetal components, materials and equipment around the worksite
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment and reporting hazards, installation issues or material shortages

What we're looking for

• At least three years of relevant experience OR a relevant qualification
• Proven experience in sheetmetal duct installation, assembly and modification
• Experience measuring, marking out, cutting, shaping and fitting sheetmetal ductwork
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans and specifications
• Competence using relevant hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment
• Ability to accurately assemble, fit and secure sheetmetal duct components
• Reliable transport
• Strong focus on health and safety
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
