Civil Drainlayer
Tradestaff is looking for an experienced Civil Drainlayer to work across civil construction projects throughout South Auckland. If you have solid drainage experience, understand underground infrastructure, and take pride in accurate, high-quality work, we want to hear from you.
Location: Various sites across South Auckland
Start date: Immediate start
Pay rate: $35–$42 per hour + weekly pay

Tradestaff is looking for an experienced Civil Drainlayer to work across civil construction projects throughout South Auckland. If you have solid drainage experience, understand underground infrastructure, and take pride in accurate, high-quality work, we want to hear from you.

Start date: Immediate start
Pay rate: $35–$42 per hour + weekly pay
What You'll Be Doing
- Install stormwater, wastewater, and sewer pipelines to project specifications
- Excavate, lay, align, and connect underground drainage systems
- Install manholes, chambers, and associated drainage infrastructure
- Complete drainage repairs, maintenance, and reinstatement works
- Read construction plans, levels, and engineering drawings accurately
- Carry out backfilling, compaction, and trench reinstatement
- Coordinate with excavator operators and civil crews to complete drainage works safely and efficiently
- Proven experience in civil drainlaying or underground drainage works
- Drainlayer registration preferred but not essential for experienced candidates
- Strong knowledge of stormwater, wastewater, and sewer installations
- Full NZ Driver Licence with WTR endorsements advantageous
- Confidence reading plans, levels, and construction drawings
- Experience working safely around excavations, trenching, and heavy machinery
- Reliable, physically fit, safety-focused, and able to work effectively within a civil crew
- Potential for ongoing and longer-term opportunities
- Exposure to a range of civil infrastructure projects
- Work alongside experienced civil construction crews
- Opportunity to broaden your drainage and infrastructure experience
- Work with established contractors throughout South Auckland
- PPE provided where required
- Support from the Tradestaff team throughout your assignment
