Join a busy civil contractor working on drainage and underground infrastructure projects across Wellington.
Location: Wellington
Start date: Immediate start available
Pay rate: $28–$35 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Install stormwater, wastewater, and water main pipelines
- Excavate and prepare trenches for pipe installation and drainage works
- Lay, align, and connect pipes to project specifications
- Assist with manhole, culvert, and catchpit installation
- Backfill, compact, and reinstate work areas once installations are complete
- Work safely around excavators and other heavy machinery
- Read site plans and follow instructions from supervisors
- Carry out general labouring duties to support the drainage crew
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised worksite while following health and safety requirements
- Previous drainage or civil construction experience
- Full Class 1 Driver Licence (Class 2 and WTR endorsements advantageous)
- Confined Space or ConstructSafe certification is beneficial
- Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors
- Strong work ethic with a reliable, team-focused attitude
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
