About the Role
As a Control Room Operator, you'll play a key role in monitoring and optimising the performance of the process plant from the central control room.
Working closely with field operators, maintenance and metallurgical teams, you'll ensure plant performance, production targets and safety standards are maintained through effective monitoring, process control and operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and control plant operations using SCADA, DCS or other process control systems

• Optimise plant performance to achieve production and recovery targets

• Monitor alarms, trends and equipment performance, responding to operational issues as they arise

• Coordinate with field operators during plant start-ups, shutdowns and process changes

• Record and report operational data, production figures and plant performance

• Work closely with Maintenance and Metallurgical teams to optimise plant efficiency

• Identify and escalate equipment or process issues

• Ensure compliance with site operating procedures and safety standards

• Maintain accurate shift logs and operational documentation

• Promote a positive safety culture across the operation

About You To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

• Previous experience operating a mineral processing plant from a central control room

• Experience using SCADA, DCS or similar industrial control systems

• Strong understanding of crushing, grinding, flotation and gold processing operations

• Ability to interpret process trends and respond to changing plant conditions

• Current Driver Licence

• Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental performance

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• A proactive attitude and commitment to operational excellence

Desirable

• Previous experience within underground gold or metalliferous mining operations

• Experience in control room operations within a mineral processing plant

• Current First Aid Certificate

• Metallurgical or mineral processing qualifications

• Experience with process optimisation and production reporting
