Class 2 Civil Labourer
Tradestaff is looking for an experienced Class 2 Civil Labourer to join a busy roading crew working across Central Waikato. This is a hands-on role combining Class 2 driving with chipseal, road maintenance and physical site work, so you’ll need to be ready to get out of the truck and get stuck in.
Location: Central Waikato, Waikato
Start date: Immediate
Pay rate: $28–$32 per hour + weekly pay

Tradestaff is looking for an experienced Class 2 Civil Labourer to join a busy roading crew working across Central Waikato. This is a hands-on role combining Class 2 driving with chipseal, road maintenance and physical site work, so you’ll need to be ready to get out of the truck and get stuck in.
Location: Central Waikato, Waikato
Start date: Immediate
Pay rate: $28–$32 per hour + weekly pay
What You’ll Be Doing
- Drive Class 2 trucks across active roading sites
- Support chipseal and road maintenance crews
- Assist with spreading and handling aggregate
- Complete general labouring, shovelling and site clean-up
- Move materials and equipment between worksites
- Help with site set-up and pack-down
- Work safely around trucks, rollers and other civil machinery
- Current full NZ Class 2 Driver Licence
- Previous roading, chipseal or civil construction experience
- Willingness to get out of the truck and complete physical labouring
- Confidence working around heavy machinery and active worksites
- Reliable transport and a strong work ethic
- Good understanding of site health and safety
- WTR endorsements are advantageous
- Potential for ongoing work
- Variety across roading and chipseal projects
- Mix of Class 2 driving and hands-on civil work
- Opportunity to build further roading and civil experience
- Work alongside experienced civil crews
- PPE provided where required
- Support from the Tradestaff Hamilton team throughout your assignment
