About the Role
As a Tele-Remote Operator, you'll play a critical role in safely operating underground mining equipment from remote operating stations, allowing production to continue in areas that may not be immediately accessible following blasting or during restricted-entry periods.
Working closely with Underground Operations, Technical Services and Maintenance teams, you'll maximise productivity while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate underground mobile equipment using tele-remote systems

  • Safely bog and haul ore and waste from remote operating stations

  • Monitor equipment performance and respond to operational issues

  • Conduct pre-start inspections and system checks

  • Maintain production targets while adhering to mine plans

  • Identify and report equipment faults or ground hazards

  • Complete operational records and production reports accurately

  • Work closely with Underground Operations and Maintenance teams

  • Ensure compliance with site operating procedures and safety standards

  • Promote and maintain a positive safety culture across the operation

About You
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

  • Previous experience operating underground mobile mining equipment in a hard rock mining environment

  • Experience using tele-remote or remote-controlled mining equipment is highly regarded

  • Strong understanding of underground production mining practices

  • Experience operating Sandvik, Epiroc, CAT or similar underground equipment

  • Current Driver Licence

  • Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental performance

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • A proactive attitude and commitment to operational excellence

Desirable

  • Previous experience within underground gold or metalliferous mining operations

  • Previous experience operating tele-remote LHDs or production equipment

  • Current First Aid Certificate

  • Additional underground mining qualifications and certifications

  • Experience with automated or remote mining technologies
