Heavy Civil Carpenter
Tradestaff International is looking for an experienced Heavy Civil Carpenter to join major infrastructure projects across Canterbury, Marlborough and other South Island locations. This role suits a skilled carpenter with strong formwork and concrete construction experience who is confident working in demanding civil environments.
Location: Canterbury, Marlborough and other South Island locations
Start date: Immediate start
Pay rate: $30–$38 per hour + weekly pay

Tradestaff International is looking for an experienced Heavy Civil Carpenter to join major infrastructure projects across Canterbury, Marlborough and other South Island locations. This role suits a skilled carpenter with strong formwork and concrete construction experience who is confident working in demanding civil environments.
Location: Canterbury, Marlborough and other South Island locations
Start date: Immediate start
Pay rate: $30–$38 per hour + weekly pay
What You’ll Be Doing
- Complete heavy formwork and boxing for civil structures
- Construct and install concrete formwork to project specifications
- Work on bridges, retaining walls, culverts and other infrastructure
- Read and interpret plans, drawings and technical specifications
- Measure, cut, assemble and install formwork accurately
- Work effectively alongside plant operators and other civil construction crews
- Maintain high standards of workmanship throughout each stage of construction
- Proven heavy civil or commercial carpentry experience
- Strong formwork and concrete construction skills
- Ability to confidently read and interpret construction plans
- Site Safe or ConstructSafe certification
- Relevant carpentry qualification or equivalent practical experience
- Full NZ Driver Licence
- Strong commitment to health and safety on civil construction sites
- Potential for ongoing work across major infrastructure projects
- Variety across heavy civil construction environments
