Experienced Boilermaker Wanted
Tradestaff Christchurch is seeking an experienced and reliable Boilermaker to join a busy and well-established manufacturing workshop in Woolston. If you're a skilled tradesperson with strong fabrication and welding experience who takes pride in producing high-quality work, we want to hear from you.

Location: Woolston, Christchurch
Start date: Immediate
Pay rate: $35–$40 per hour | Weekly pay

What You'll Be Doing
  • Fabricating and assembling tanks, vessels, and custom-built components
  • TIG and MIG welding on aluminium, stainless steel, and mild steel
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Measuring, marking out, cutting, fitting, and assembling materials
  • General fitting and heavy fabrication work
  • Drawing materials from stock and booking parts and labour to jobs
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workshop
  • Operating fabrication equipment and workshop machinery safely
  • Working independently and as part of a team to meet production deadlines
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience as a Boilermaker, Heavy Fabricator, or similar role
  • Excellent TIG welding skills
  • Strong MIG welding experience
  • Experience working with aluminium, stainless steel, and mild steel
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong fabrication, fitting, and assembly skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Strong communication skills and team attitude
  • Commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Physically fit and capable of handling fabrication materials
  • Trade qualification or welding certifications are advantageous
  • Mandarin speaking ability beneficial but not essential

  • Monday to Friday hours (6:30am–3:00pm)
