Boatbuilder / Shipwright
We’re on the lookout for a skilled Boatbuilder / Shipwright to join our team in West Auckland and contribute to an exciting marine project. If you take pride in craftsmanship and enjoy working on high-quality vessels, this is a great opportunity to get stuck into a hands-on role with a supportive crew.

We’re on the lookout for a skilled Boatbuilder / Shipwright to join our team in West Auckland and contribute to an exciting marine project. Location: West Auckland, Auckland
Start date: Immediate start
Pay rate: $40 per hour – paid weekly
What you’ll be doing:
- Build and assemble wooden, fiberglass, or composite boats from the ground up
- Carry out hull repairs, restorations, and refits on a range of vessels
- Read and interpret plans, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Work with materials including timber, fiberglass, epoxy resins, and metals
- Install and maintain boat components
- Collaborate with project managers to meet deadlines
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment
- Minimum 2 years’ hands-on experience working on boats
- Experience as a boatbuilder, shipwright, or similar trade background
- Confidence using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong understanding of marine construction and safety standards
- Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude
