Working in a busy heavy transport workshop, you'll diagnose, repair and maintain electrical systems across a fleet of commercial trucks, trailers and transport equipment.
This is a varied role where you'll use modern diagnostic equipment to identify faults, complete repairs and install electrical accessories while helping keep vehicles operating safely and efficiently.
What You'll Be Doing
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on heavy trucks and trailers
- Install, maintain and repair heavy vehicle electrical systems
- Carry out fault finding using modern diagnostic equipment
- Repair wiring, lighting, charging and starting systems
- Install GPS units, reverse cameras, telematics and other electrical accessories
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
- Complete preventative maintenance and electrical inspections
- Maintain accurate service records and workshop documentation
- Follow all workshop health and safety procedures
- Proven experience as an Auto Electrician
- Experience working on heavy vehicles, trucks or transport equipment
- Strong diagnostic and electrical fault-finding skills
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
- Experience installing and repairing vehicle electrical systems and accessories
- Trade qualification preferred, however significant industry experience will also be considered
- High attention to detail with pride in quality workmanship
- Reliable, safety-focused and able to work independently or within a team
