Machine Operator

Tradestaff Christchurch are looking for a Machine Operator to help our client set up٫ maintain and operate machinery. 

This is a long term role, so the suitable candidate will be able to start immediately and work long term as this is an ongoing position.

If you have been a machine operator, preferably in a steel environment, we want to hear from you!

You will be very physically fit, have good critical thinking skills and a fantastic attitude to go with it!

Responsibilities of the role are tasks such as: 

• Prepare machines to start a production cycle٫ performing calibration٫ cleaning and other activities
• Monitor and properly adjust machine settings
• Supply raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
• Check parts with precision٫ using appropriate measuring tools
• Conduct tests to check the operation of machines٫ on a regular basis
• Troubleshoot issues that might occur during the shift
• Verify output to detect any machine-related mistakes or flaws
• Create and manage records of approved and defective units or final products

What we need from you: 

• Proven experience in a similar Machine Operating position
• Long term availability 
• Physical stamina and strength - This is a physical role 
• Good communication and teamwork are essential 
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work unsupervised 
• 2 x work references + Clean MOJ + Clean Drug test
